Description

It's likely that your baby will use between six and 12 disposable nappies a day in their first few months, with this decreasing as they get older. Kit & Kin nappies are made using chlorine-free fluff pulp harvested from sustainably managed forests. It funds the protection of tropical rainforest and supports sustainable community development projects in Guatemala through the World Land Trust.

Our small person is an excellent sleeper but a wet or leaking nappy will wake her, usually at around 3am. We did not have to get out of bed with the Pura. 7:30am came and we all got up, with the little one sporting a super heavy, wet nappy that didn’t leak even one drop. We were both utterly confused how such a thin nappy contained so much urine, but it did. What’s more, no discomfort and no sign of an imminent nappy rash. We tested again the following night and the result was exactly the same.

While most disposable nappies are recyclable, the UK doesn’t currently have the facilities to process them in the right way. Partnered with NappiCycle – the UK’s only nappy recycling service, working to keep nappies out of landfill. What did you think of the overall quality of the nappies? I thought they were great quality nappy, no leaks, comfortable for my daughter to wear although I did find the size 6s quite snug. They only just fit and my daughter isn't even 2 yet. I found the tabs were great, very strong and difficult for dd to remove herself. A cookie set by YouTube to measure bandwidth that determines whether the user gets the new or old player interface.

If you love the convenience of disposable nappies but want to minimise your impact on the planet, Pura’s range will make you nappy happy! To me, a relatively unimportant element, but with plenty of rival brands trying to corner the market in adorable nappy designs, Pura has given thought to aesthetics. Simple white nappies with cute patterns inspired by nature keep things simple and not too twee. No silly mantras or affirmations here (trust me, they get very patronising during a 3am nappy change), just a nice looking nappy. We set out to create an environmentally-friendly nappy that doesn’t compromise on nappy performance, bottom comfort or value for money. The result is the happiest nappy all-round.

Pura Wipes

I will definitely buy them again,. As I am currently on a tight budget I would alternate with what I am using now. Ideally I would like to try the Pura nappy subscription. What did you like most about Pura’s nappies? I loved the fact that they were unscented and contained plant based fibres. My daughters nappy rash improved dramatically by using these nappies. I love that she was itchy wearing a nappy, was more comfortable and they didn't leak once. I also enjoy the transparent environmental objectives, amazing value for money and wow. It’s nice to not have to worry about running out at a bad moment, thanks to the subscription I’ve signed up for. Performance-wise, I give these a 5/5 , purely because of zero leaks and no signs of baby discomfort. Here’s what Pura has to say: “We believe being eco-friendly is no longer a luxury, but a necessity. And that we should all be able to look after our planet, simply by looking after our families. We put babies first, with anti-allergy, organic ingredients and sustainable, biodegradable materials. So you’re protecting their skin and protecting their future too. We’re here to empower everyone to protect the future of the planet today, with eco-friendly products that are affordable and accessible for all” Awarded the EU Ecolabel (meaning they meet the highest environmental standards), Pura nappies feature a super-absorbent, FSC-certified, plant fibre inner core and are produced with 100% renewable electricity and no production waste.

Disposable nappies: the pros Can simply be thrown away after use, widely available in supermarkets, easy to carry around when you're out and about, high absorbency. Made from premium bamboo fabric and free from chemical nasties, these high performance reusable nappies can protect even the most active babies. Adjustable fastenings make it easy to adapt the Miosolo to fit your growing baby, and the highly absorbent double core provides impressive leak protection. The nappies are super flexible around the waist and sport an elastic adjustment system that adapts to the size of your toddler for a more comfortable fit. This is key in helping your child learn how to put their underwear on and take them off by themselves. They also have cute Disney designs that appeal to children and can encourage them to engage with the potty-training process. These soft and breathable pull-up nappies are hypoallergenic and dermatologically tested. They’re easy to remove for changing and are a convenient option to ensure your child remains comfortable and dry as they reach their next big milestone. Based on the average price per nappy, Asda, Sainsbury's and Ocado were the cheapest places to go for Pampers size 4 nappies over the last year. This is based on the average price over the entire year. Asda's Little Angels nappies were the most expensive on average which is different to last year, when it was Baby Ocado. Each nappy can take hundreds of years to naturally degrade, so the sheer number of disposable nappies thrown away presents serious problems to the environment. This is particularly true when you consider that each baby could use more than 5,000 nappies before they are fully potty trained. If you're considering switching to cloth nappies, see our round-up of the best reusable nappy brands . How many disposable nappies do babies use per day? Brands may slightly differ when it comes to size and weights but most will follow the size guide below:

circulate for maximum dryness, breathability and comfort. Pura’s size 1 and 2 nappies also contain a handy wetness indicator strip.

If you’re on a journey to minimise your carbon footprint, but are not quite ready to commit to reusable nappies, then eco-friendly disposables are the next best option. As “the most accredited eco-nappy”, the Eco by Kit & Kin is made with sustainable plant-based materials and is kind to both the planet and your baby’s skin. Approved by dermatologists, these nappies are hypoallergenic and contain no chlorine, latex, perfume or parabens. If you are planning on taking your little one for a dip, you will want to make sure they are wearing a good swimming nappy to avoid any accidents in the water. Unlike regular nappies, these Huggies Little Swimmers are made from lighter materials which don’t make the nappy swell or become heavy when immersed in water. This means that, while the nappies won’t be able to contain urine (be careful when you are out of the water), they do a great job of holding in any number twos. Although they are thinner than usual nappies, they have leak guards that form a seal around the legs so your baby (and anyone in the vicinity) will be protected while enjoying a swim. Rascal + Friends proudly boasts that its nappies have ‘no nasties’, meaning they’re free of latex, chlorine, fragrance and lotions, and use water-based inks. Its nappies contain sustainable pulp, are vegan and are certified by animal rights organisation PETA. We also calculate a customer score for each brand, which is based on parents' overall satisfaction with the nappies and how likely they are to recommend them.
