This captivating tale is one of friendship, love and fun that will delight as many children of today as it did myself in the nineties till now. All pictures have an element of darkness to them, which I think symbolises the overall theme of the book. It is a wet afternoon and the rain is coming in the playroom window and dripping through a hole in the dolls' house roof. Little Bear explores underneath the tablecloth and discovers that it looks just like a circus tent; a starting point for a wonderful new game. Jane Hissey is not only a great storyteller full of creativity, imagination and originality but an accomplished artist whose stunning illustrations adorn each page of this wonderful book.

Little Bear quite likes being small but he does not like to be thought of as a baby, even when it is part of a game. The model animation television series was one that I took much delight in that brought Jane Hissey’s stories to life before your very eyes, as those characters that one loved in her books had adventures on screen. I would like to thank the author for having her book as a giveaway on GoodReads, which I concider myself most privileged to have received. There are days when you want to take a trip down memory lane and for me Little Bear’s Trousers and Jolly Snow are pure childhood.He likes to look after all the other toys and loves reading them a bedtime story at the end of the day. In the end the toys find that something Bramwell has been knitting all week turns out to be the perfect present for their new playmate.
