Description

What is most remarkable about Russell’s periodic table is the completely unconventional approach he takes to explain the ultimate framework of nature and its elements - which, according to him, is wholly musical in its character! A musician from infancy, he secured a church organist’s position at thirteen, and entered art school. Since then, he was entirely self-supporting and self-educated. As a young man he was an illustrator for books and magazines. He is not the only one who experienced illumination (eg Martinus Thomsen (1890-1981)) and/or made intriguing work (eg William Butler Yeats (1865-1939) or Hilma Af Klint (1862-1944)).

The time has come in the history of man’s journey from his material jungle to his spiritual mountain top when it is imperative that he must live more and more in the cosmic Light universe of knowing, and less in the electric wave universe of sensing. Man must know that his power lies in the stillness of his centering Self and not in the motion by means of which he manifests that stillness. He must know that his Self is God in him. Also he must know gradually the dawning awareness of the cosmic Light of God in him, for with it comes an awareness of his purposefulness in manifesting the Light and the power to manifest it.”For a boy, I had been doing extraordinary things, which caused much wonder. Before I could walk, I could play on the piano, with one finger, any tunes that I heard, then, gradually, with all fingers, even the complex melodies played by blind Mr. Maynard, who, to me, was the greatest man in all the world. Mr. Maynard lived in the dark but walked and talked with God in the Light. And what the soul of Creation told his Soul, he told me and I walked and talked with God in those early days in His wonderlands of Peat Meadow and the huge oaks down in Bachelder’s wilds where nobody went but me, for no one else in all My World heard what I heard there nor saw what I saw there so it was mine alone, all that glory just mine alone.” In 1894, at the age of twenty-three, he married Helen Andrews. During this first marriage, he had two daughters, both born before the end of the century, and two granddaughters. But most of the time, Russell lived alone in his studio in Carnegie Hall in New York, while his family lived in Washington, Connecticut, in a house he had designed and built for them. Alpern, Andrew, Luxury Apartment Houses of Manhattan, New York, Dover Publications, 1975, pp. 43–49 I believe that every man can multiply his own ability by almost constant wordless realization of his unity with his Source. I have, myself, made that feeling so much a part of me that I actually feel myself to be an extension of the Source; that my works are not my own, but interpretations of this Source.”

Russell was a renowned painter who studied art at the Massachusetts Normal Art School - one of America's oldest art schools. He was a key member of the Boston School of Impressionism in the early 20th century. His most notable artwork is the allegorical masterpiece from 1900, ‘The Might of Ages’, which catapulted him to international fame. The son of Nova Scotia immigrants in the US, Russell led an unconventional life, leaving behind traditional education at the age of 9 and choosing to follow autodidactism instead in his later years - the art of self-learning by pursuing in-depth knowledge and practicing skills. Walter Russell's careers as an illustrator, correspondent in the Spanish–American War, child portrait painter and builder are detailed in several questionnaires he answered and submitted to Who's Who in America. [6] Lao also wrote several books herself. Her main concern was to attach more value to the feminine, dark, discharged and expanding principle as opposed to the predominant male-concentrated principal of our culture.Amazing, I rely on our superiors’ views to inform my own, on the accuracy of the science. As a book, a work of creation and explanation, even poetic prose, it is as gallantly elegant as a very well strung harp. However, while the world knows much of the achievements of other multi-faceted pioneers like Leonardo Da Vinci and Nikola Tesla, an enigma still surrounds Russell’s beliefs and revelations. Today, to help you gain a deeper understanding of his life and works, we are sharing 8 of his most notable pursuits. 8 Facts To Know About Walter Russell: The Multi-Faceted Pioneer 1 - Walter Russell was self-taught days later he reported having seen the movement of the planets in their synchronized orbits, the movement of the lithosphere beneath the oceans, the mechanical operation of disc brakes and cone clutches within the Earth, and other such cosmic things. Upon his return to NYC, he resumed the presidency of the Society of the Arts and Sciences there and worked along side the greats of his time such as Edison and Tesla, the latter whom he befriended. Discussion [1] - Note about Russell's framework or cosmogony At age 29, he attracted widespread attention with his allegorical painting The Might of Ages in 1900. The painting represented the United States at the Turin international exhibition and won several awards. [7]
