Well after a great start to the year which has seen 20 Greyhounds go home, including two that have gone to Denmark, things have gone a little quieter. We had a great response to the annual Quiz Night which raised around £800 on tickets and the raffle. Well done to the winners and commiserations to those who didn't make it to the winners podium.

Some of you may have noticed that we have a date for another of our annual events, our Retired Greyhound Show that is part of the North Stifford Village Show. That's on the Saturday the 16th of June, so please make a note in your diary it's a great bit of fun for the day. For more information click here.

There are a number of fundraising activities in February, we're running two Tescos Meet & Greets, on the 8th & 9th we're at 300 Hornchurch Road, and on the 15th & 16th we're at their store on the Mayflower Retail Park, Basildon, just off the A127. February will also see the first of a series of Paws in the Park events arranged by the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham. This first Paws in the Park event is on the 17th of February and runs from 10:30am to 12:30pm. We look forward to seeing you at one or more of these events!

Happy New Year Posted by: Mark Wilson

Welcome to 2012! We hope you had a great Christmas and that 2012 will be a happy and prosperous year for you!

Despite the economic climate we managed to home 179 dogs in 2011 a big thank you to all who helped us reach this tremendous total. Let's hope 2012 proves to be at least as successful.

During 2012 we will be attending all the usual events and maybe some new ones, we already have a number of Tescos Meet & Greets booked, and it would be great if any of you could attend any of these events with your dog(s). In June we'll be running our annual Retired Greyhound Show as usual as part of the Stifford Village Show, and we'll be at events such as the Essex County Show. So here's to a great 2012, the UKs Olympic year...
