Description

It is marketed as a monophonic bass synth, but it's a lot more. Actually it has a secret. It's not completely monophonic. You can sequence different notes for every OSC if you're using it's sequencer, or set different semitones for every OSC. By these methods you can even get triad chords out of it, which could be useful if you're making dub / techno dub music for example. Korg shall not be obliged to provide support services for any Third Party Software supplied (whether relating to operating methods, defects, or otherwise).

It is perhaps telling that, for a time, initially they could be a little hard to obtain (at sensible prices at least) due to the high demand. The Volca Bass was released in April 2013 at Musikmesse Frankfurt alongside the Volca Keys and Volca Beats. [1] The Volca Bass was received well by critics, with MusicTech calling it "the best sounding of the three [original Volcas]". [2] Design [ edit ] The TB-303: an inspiration for the Volca Bass The Volca Bass is essentially a hybrid unit with an analog sound engine controlled digitally. It has dial tweaks and can be used to record into sequencers and accessed over MIDI. Before we get into the important and trivial details of the Volca bass and Nubass analog machines, let’s learn a bit about their creators. The Korg company is the real mastermind behind these stellar products.

They are not new to the music industry. So, when they launch a product, it is safe to assume that they know exactly what they are doing. The ‘Donca’ name came from an onomatopoeic reference. After the success of the DA-20, Keio decided to launch another product, the Rhythm machine DE-20, in 1996, a solid-state version. Stutter isn't limited to generating echo-like repeats though. At its maximum speed, the resulting triggers create drone-like textures as the voices blend and mulch together. Needless to say, overuse can pretty soon lead to chaos, but it's not necessarily bad chaos. If, at any time, you get a sudden urge for normality, holding the Func key while turning Time will select only perfectly sync'ed divisions. And if all that still hasn't energised your rhythmic tastebuds, the motions of both Stutter knobs can be recorded and stored in each pattern, courtesy of Korg's tried-and-tested Motion Recording. Popular since Electribe days, this 'tweak and memorise' feature is here limited to the Stutter effect and the speed control of the PCM voices, but it's sufficient to add that special je ne sais quoi to any Volca Beats pattern.

In 1967, Fumio Mieda approached Kato and asked him to build keyboards. Kato was impressed by Mieda’s enthusiasm and, in return, asked him to build Kato a prototype. The MIDI IN connector lets you synchronize with other devices, as well as play the volca from any MIDI keyboard. You can also send note messages from your DAW and use the volca as an analog sound module. Before founding the company, Kato was the owner of a nightclub, which might explain his love for music and musical instruments. Osmani was a university graduate and an accordionist who frequently performed at the nightclub along with the Wurlitzer Sideman rhythm machine. Volca Nubass by Korg is another excellent amp that you need to try. It has terrific acid sequences that you can use with ease. Korg warrants that the Licensed Program when properly used will provide the facilities and functions as described in the accompanying documentation but does not warrant that the operation of the Licensed Program will be uninterrupted or error-free. Unlike the Keys and Beats, there is no 'Motion sequencing', that is, only notes and Slide information is captured by the sequencer and changes to other settings are not.
