What I do know is that, as someone who isn’t particularly religious, this book must be the devil incarnate bc it almost sent me to church. Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of using your words but these words much of the time are just circular reasoning that frankly wore me the fuck out. I am all for the ginormous fuck you that this novel gives to a culture and a movement that feeds off making young girls find their worth in their purity and shame when they do anything that might threaten that. You would think, the whole set-up of them being really good friends and him always being protective but no he is so annoying.

I wasn't really attached to any of them, and there were a lot of unresolved characters/ storylines that sort of annoyed me, but let's move on. She’s strong and resilient, but most importantly she’s becoming herself, which is all anyone ever hopes to accomplish. The book started off at a point where the characters had pretty much independently been in love with each other, throughout the entirety of their childhood- but we didn't get to see ANY of that.They kiss, her first kiss ever, they both loved it, he has all these feelings for her and you know what this fucking piece of shit does? Then she make him wait until she feels ready and know for sure that he want to be with her, because she is tired of waiting him to be ready to date her for years.

Cole is DEFINITELY Mason’s more risqué character, and I LOVE that she wasn’t afraid to showcase sexual desires in this book. So already, immediately into the story (we're talking first-page basis)- there was that lack of context and drive, which made it hard to want to keep going.
